Join us for the inaugural event of Atmospheric Entanglements, a project bringing together students from the Critical Inquiry Lab at the Design Academy Eindhoven (NL), with students from Jindal University, in the Art & Architecture Department (IN).

We’re delighted to welcome two guests, Nerea Calvillo and Ravi Agarwal, who will present their transdisciplinary artistic research practices, followed by a discussion with Q&A.

Post-Event Actions for Students

From Ravi Agarwal

See this field, in time and space. See also – how may it see you?

From Nerea Calvillo

Each student is to gather “dust”. When together, they explain what they think it contains, what it tells about the place where it was gathered, what produced it, and to try to unpack the inequalities that are embedded in it.

Talks

  • Ravi Agarwal

    Ecological Entanglements

What happens when we bring nature back into our social contact? What changes in how we view questions of justice, more-than-human, and nature relationships? This talk is an artistic inquiry, through my practice,  to delve into these and such questions.

  • Nerea Calvillo

    Queering and Designing with/in Air

We are well aquainted with air. Breathing, poisoning, suffocating, injecting…. everything we do metabolises air and creates different realms of breathibility. These processes tend to be the externality of daily practices. But, do we know how to design it? Does the air allow itself to be designed? Why is it productive to queer it? Reflecting on the design and construction of two spatial-design interventions we will explore the differences between designing in/with the air, how working with air challenges traditional design and construction practices and the social and institutional consequences of doing so.
